Hi, I’m Dawn!
Growing up in Singapore, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was deeply intertwined into my younger years. My grandmother and mother were treated by TCM doctors and invariably I was brought up on Chinese herbs.
It wasn’t until I came to study in Northern Beaches that I truly appreciated and valued the TCM healing traditions that were passed down to me.
My journey in TCM started in 2012 when I trained in Qi Gong with a Qi Gong Master. Back then I was going through a difficult time in my personal life. I healed myself through dedicated Qi Gong practice and the Master taught me to apply the same healing techniques on others. It was then that I knew this was what I wanted to do. Helping others through ancient wisdom and TCM.
Thereafter I started a Bachelor of TCM course at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2013. Through my eight years of studying and practice covering a broad range of disorders, it was most rewarding seeing my patients overcome their struggles after treatment.
I believe the power of TCM healing is in its individualised treatment. At NBIP each session will be tailored specifically for your condition at the time of presentation. I’m committed to helping you improve the overall quality and wellbeing in your life. Depending on your condition, your session may include acupuncture, traditional herbal medicine, fire cupping, gua sha (scraping), moxibustion, electroacupuncture and/or auricular acupuncture. I also incorporate dietary and lifestyle advice where applicable.
I have a special interest in a broad range of conditions including and not limited to pain relief and pain management of headaches, migraines, musculoskeletal injuries (knee pain, back pain, hip pain), mental and emotional trauma (anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia), skin disorders, pregnancy support, gynecological issues and digestive issues.
Personally, I enjoy working regularly on myself through meditation, Qi Gong and acupuncture besides playing with my German Shepherd and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey to wellness.
