I’m Mathilde, an endorsed midwife, registered nurse, and Chinese medicine practitioner with a particular passion for women’s health, fertility, and perinatal care. This passion long predates my own experience as a mother; it’s what first drew me into midwifery. When it came time to have my own child, that passion and my professional experience gave me the confidence to choose a home-birth, though I know that’s just one of many valid paths into motherhood, and I’m equally passionate about supporting women through whatever birth choice is right for them.
I grew up between Sweden, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia, which gave me an early appreciation for different ways of understanding health, something that’s carried through into how I now bring together Western midwifery and Traditional Chinese Medicine in my practice. I’m based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, where I live with my husband, toddler, and two greyhounds.
Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me surfing, bush walking, or on my yoga mat, and when I’m not outdoors, I’m probably curled up with a book. That love of learning is what drives my ongoing study and practice in TCM and midwifery. I’m passionate about understanding health, and bringing that depth of knowledge to the people I care for.”
