Katika Funnell is a degree-qualified and registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist with over 20 years of private practice experience. Based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, she supports clients from Mona Vale, Warriewood, Newport and Avalon and nearby areas bringing a calm, patient-centred approach to her care.
After completing her degree and acupuncture internship at the Red Cross Hospital in Hangzhou, China (in collaboration with UTS), Katika has worked extensively across the Northern Beaches and North Shore. She is known for her gentle, virtually painless needling techniques and targeted treatments.
As an experienced acupuncturist in the Northern Beaches, Katika focuses on pregnancy acupuncture, fertility support acupuncture, and women’s health. She regularly supports Northern Beaches mums with a range of concerns, including period pain, irregular cycles, menopause, and hot flushes. She also treats busy families for pain relief, helping clients manage headaches, sciatica, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Her treatments are tailored to each individual and may include Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and electro-acupuncture where appropriate. Katika has also completed advanced training in cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation with Dr Vivian Tam of Cosmetic Acupuncture Melbourne.
A strong believer in “walking the talk,” Katika has personally used Acupuncture herself for over two decades, including for fertility support, pregnancy care, and preparation for her labours as well as general wellbeing.
She is available Thursdays 8am-3pm and Saturdays 7am-12noon.
